Oil Lamp
Let this old oil lamp
burn still today
Pour the freshly-pressed
oil of Your Spirit
into this weathered vessel
Replace my wick with fresh cloth
cut from pure clean fabric
set aside for your work
Light the flame again
that I might burn for You
testify of You
because of You
Your faithfulness to me
I am a light
I cast light
because You have filled me
with light
with the oil of Your Spirit
I can illuminate
dark hearts
dark places
because You have illuminated
my dark heart
my dark places
My light is You
the One who spoke
and light heeded
the One who came
so those who sat
in darkness could see wonderful
life-altering light
This light of mine
I’m gonna’ let it shine.
