only needed

left untended
baked clay
persevered
stoney face
stoney heart
wielded harsh words
heavy-handed
knife words
cutting, cutting
those nearest

then
heart of stone taken
warm flesh placed within
with purpose new

memory of granite speaks
living water
over hard rock

water having its way
flowing over
soaking in
separating
running down
again
and again
making smooth
making useful
to the Master
