Abba, help!
I’m stuck in a swamp
my feet like anchors weigh
I can’t see past tall grass
I have lost my way
Your voice growing fainter
in the distance calling
Abba, please!
Help me find my way
A flare soars above me
illuminating the sky
the swamp is drained
the grasses gone
You stand above me–You alone
Abba, help!
Please carry me home.

The chains that hold me are from the past,
the voices of those closest to me
who utter confirmation of my worthlessness
my failures, my lack of any attractiveness or beauty.
The persecution is largely from within,
I hear them, I sense their rejection
–those to whom I have given all
and before whom I have laid myself bare.
I was foolish with my heart,
wasting it on those who could never understand its worth,
those with nothing to give,
souls shriveled and dry
But You made me to love,
pouring water on my soul,
causing it to overflow,
opening my hands to give, my heart to love
but I wasn’t completely schooled,
I ran off from the master before the lessons were complete.
I am restored now to Your tutelage,
but my past trials trail me
like a banner, announcing my failures.
Lord, my life is Yours. Break the chains.
Set me free from those who seek my hurt.
I have no defense against them,
those under the sway of the enemy of my soul.
God: Be still and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.
Do not be afraid, stand still and see the salvation of Adonai, which He will accomplish for you today.

Shine Your Glory, Lord!
What sorrow so deep
what wickedness so near
Come, Lord Jesus shine
Your glory over here
Darkness threatens light
the world exacts its toll
but my Redeemer lives
He lives to save my soul
The little ones we bring to You
they seem to have few cares
the darkness or the boogie man
sometimes a grizzley bear
But satan has his sights on them
to through them thwart our way
come help me now Lord Jesus
to walk another day
As I go on the slope is steeper
darkness seems to grow much deeper
I want to quit, sit down and cry
but on eagles wings I’m called to fly
Lord Jesus make a way
seems I’ve reach the wall
please help me on this day
I feel I might just fall . . .
